Texas has an amazing number of bridges.  Over twice as many as California.  And many of them are considered “functionally obsolete”

Great.

I wish I knew which ones!

I couldn’t find another state with as many bridges, or with as many in disrepair.

Hard to tell from driving around here though - I think we have excellent highways.  I imagine many of these bridges are small bridges on country roads.  But still - replacing almost 8,000 bridges will not be cheap.  And it won’t happen quickly.
