First girlfriend finds me through Google « Scobleizer - Tech Geek Blogger

 Robert Scoble’s ex girlfriend finds him via the Internet. 

That’s cool.  Accidental almost, but cool.

I comment on that post about a friend (not a girlfriend - I wish she was!) I knew in the early 80’s.  I haven’t been able to find her.  I wonder if Scoble’s blog can help?

    I posted a follow-up comment to Scoble’s site -basically challenging him to help me “Find Katie”.

    Let’s see if this thing gets any legs. I liked Katie - probably more than she ever knew - so if we find her, I’ll probably be embarrassed as hell. But what do I care?

    I don’t mind a little embarrassment to reconnect to an old friend.

    I’m not your katie, but there are a few of us out there. Maybe you should include a little more info. About how old is she? More specifics on her position/title/rank? Do you remember where she as educated?

    One more thing, for everyone else, Rob’s most likely a nice guy looking to get in tough with an old friend but he could just as easily be an ex stalker. Help him find his Katie, but give her his contact information and let her be the one to get in touch.

    Katie - good advise. Although I’m not a freak, I could be - so please, nobody send me any personal contact info. Instead, if the “right” Katie is found, just send her to this blog post.

    Katie was from Chicago, stationed in Sad Diego, CA in 1980. She worked with me in the Trauma Research Unit, 26-2D, Balboa Naval Hospital. She was my boss for a bit. I think she transferred to Rota, Spain. I think she was an E-4 at the time. It was a while ago!

    Somewhere I have a picture of her, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable posting it - for the same reasons you described.
