This won’t interest most any of you.  But I live in a small city surrounded by San Antonio.  San Antonio has their water system, our town has BexarMet.  I’ve used both.  BexarMet sucks.  Water pressure is almost non-existent.  For over a year they applied my payments to a closed account - while they kept trying to shut my water off (I once called the Police on my water company because they were trying to remove my meter at 5:08 PM on a Thursday - of a four day weekend.  They we going to leave me without water for four days!  I had the current bill in my hand, showing I owed a negative $264 - in other words, I had a credit.

I won’t miss it if this utility goes away.  From what I understand the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) will service us if the bill moves forward.  That’s fine with me.  I never called the cops on SAWS.

The Texas House late Monday approved a bill that would give control of the Bexar Metropolitan Water District to a nine-member board composed of Bexar County commissioners, the San Antonio mayor and the Atascosa, Comal and Medina county judges.

Lawmakers approved 10 amendments to House Bill 1565 during almost an hour of floor debate before approving the bill 132-1.

Years of ills at the troubled utility with 80,000 connections in Bexar, Comal, Atascosa and Medina counties drew the ire of Rep. Robert Puente, D-San Antonio, who filed the bill that would have moved control from its seven-member elected board to the Bexar County Commissioners Court.

According to this (lengthy) article, nearly 1 in 28 men in the US are raising children that they did not father.  Wow.  The number astonishes me.

My kids are mine - regardless of what any DNA would say at this point.  But 15 years ago?  Who knows how I would have reacted.  I am pretty sure the police would have been involved.

This kind of blows the stereotype of men being the cheaters out of the water, I think.  In fact, I know more women who cheated on their husbands than I do men who cheated on their Wives’.

I’m not saying men cheat less, just that I don’t think they cheat more, anymore.
